Sunridge Observatory

The home of the
Medicine Hat Astronomy Club

The Sunridge Observatory is a non-profit organization. We operate as any non-profit organization through donations and grants. We are open to visitors and groups to provide education and access to equipment for the study of astronomy and education. Please watch this site for further news and information. We run monthly open houses for the general public as well as groups. We have a library of astronomy and science books and videos to be signed out. As a member, you can sign out telescopes or use the 450mm telescope for your viewing. A great place for the whole family.

Our next Open House will be
Saturday, 10th September 2016 from 7:30pm

In 2013, the Medicine Hat Astronomy Club received a Municipal Sustainability grant. We used this grant to purchase presentation hardware. This hardware improves the Medicine Hat Astronomy Club's ability to educate the public on various aspects of astronomy or space related matters.

We are amassing a collection of presentations, customized for different age and social groups. Presentations have been designed for the Alberta school curriculum, Scout and Guide badge requirements, or general interest.

Most updates and club news is posted to Twitter which should also show up on Facebook page.
